Plywood and Blockboards:

BWR (Boiling Water Resistant) Plywood

BWR Plywood
BWR means Boiling Water Resistant, commonly known as waterproof plywood. This grade of material can be used in places where there are high moisture content and some water presence, but not preferred for exterior purpose. It is preferred for making those pieces of furniture that are likely to get a little wet like Kitchen cabinets and other Kitchen furniture. Specification for BWR Grade as per Indian Standard is IS 303. NOTE: Different colored plywood does not differentiate the grading of plywood, it’s only the glue that makes difference. People get misguided here. They think if plywood is dark green in color, it is waterproof. But in the reality, it is made dark because it shouldn’t get mixed with Moisture resistant the lot and people take advantage of this and started fooling customer by coloring it green and selling it as BWR.

MR (Moisture Resistant) Plywood:

MR Plywood

MR means Moisture Resistant, commonly known as Commercial plywood. This grade of material can be used only in interior purposes like home & office furniture, as it can resist moisture and is used in places where there is only moisture and cannot be used in the places which are exposed to water. Specification for MR Grade plywood as per Indian Standard is IS: 303.

BWP (Boiling Water Proof) Blockboard:

Marine-grade plywood is superior in strength and quality to both MR and BWR grades of plywood, commonly known as BWP means Boiling Water Proof. This grade of Plywood can be used at any place like in bathroom, exterior cladding, shipping and many other purposes.

MR (Moisture Resistant) Blockboard:

MR blockboard


MR Block Board. MR Grade Block Board stands for Moisture Resistance Plywood. This type of plywood is commonly used for indoor furniture and thus also served in the market as interior grade plywood.

  Particle Board and Plywood: Particle Board Particleboard is made by heat pressing the waste-wood products like wood chips or jute-stick, sawmill shavings, sawdust with an adhesive together.
